Parking Citations-Rules and Regulations
All rules and regulations apply to automobiles, trucks, motor bikes, mopeds, motor scooters and motorcycles. For the rules listed below, the term "vehicle" will be refer to the above ways of transportation.
General Rules
- Where vehicles on campus are observed in violation of any of the regulations, the driver or owner will be held responsible.
- Snow Removal - during heavy snowfall, in areas where lots are closed from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., this policy will be strictly enforced for snow removal.
- Except in storage lots and reserved spaces, purchase of a permit does not guarantee parking in a specific lot. Lack of space in a parking lot is not a valid excuse for violation of a regulation.
- Where parking areas are clearly outlined or parking chocks provided, occupants must observe the confines of each space. Only one vehicle is allowed per space.
- The University reserves the right to restrict parking in all lots and garages for special purposes such as athletics and special events.
Vehicular Problems and Broken Meters
- Immediately notify the Office of Parking and Transportation or University Police of vehicles with problems. Notify the Office of Parking and Transpiration by phone (438-8391) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mon-Friday, or University Police via phone (438-8631) at all other times.
- Immediately notify the Office of Parking and Transportation or University Police of disabled vehicles. Notify the Office of Parking and Transportation by phone (438-8391) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mon-Friday, or University Police via phone (438-8631) at all other times.
- Arrangements should be made with the Office of Parking and Transportation for the removal of disabled vehicles. Written notices placed on disabled vehicles will not be accepted as a parking permit.
- Vehicles parked at improperly working meters must contact the Office of Parking and Transportation and be removed within thirty minutes from all thirty minute or less meters, and within one hour from all other meters.
Disability Parking
- Parking for individuals with a disability:
- Faculty/Staff and Students - The use of disabled spaces that require an ISU permit is limited to faculty, staff and students who have registered their disabled permit/plates through the Office of Parking and Transportation. Both permits must be displayed on the rearview mirror.
- Visitors - The use of disabled spaces designated for visitors require a valid disabled permit displayed on the rearview mirror or current disabled license plates. These spaces are for short-term visits.
- Temporary Disabled Permits - Individuals requiring temporary arrangements for disabled parking must obtain permits through the DMV/Secretary Of State.
Towing Offenses
