Faculty/Staff surface permits are valid in faculty/staff and commuter surface lots at all times. They are valid in RED reserved spaces from 5:00pm to 4:00am. They are NOT valid in WHITE reserved spaces at any time.
Reserved Space permits are valid in their specific reserved space from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. In recognition of reserved permit holders who may need to attend meetings or short trainings on campus, reserved permits are valid in surface faculty/staff lots up to three (3) hours. Reserved permits are not intended to be used in place of a surface faculty/staff permit for long-term parking. If you need to park longer than the three (3) hour limit, please contact the Office of Parking and Transportation for temporary arrangements. Beginning at 5 p.m. until 4 a.m., all reserved permits are valid in WHITE and RED reserved spaces, surface faculty/staff lots, and commuter lots. Written requests for substitute parking in a reserved space must be submitted by the permit holder to the Office of Parking and Transportation for the issuance of a separate short-term temporary permit. Any vehicle parked in a reserved space without the proper permit at any time will be ticketed and may be subject to tow.
Reserved Zone permits are valid in the School Street and South University Street Parking Garages in the areas specifically designated as "Reserved Zone". They are valid in RED reserved spaces, faculty/staff and commuter surface lots from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. only. They are not valid in WHITE reserved spaces.
Student Commuter permits are valid in commuter lots only
beginning at 6 a.m. They are valid from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m.
in faculty/staff surface lots and in RED reserved spaces.
They are NOT valid in WHITE reserved spaces.
Overnight parking with the student commuter permit is allowed in lots S104 and S105 ONLY.
West Campus Commuter permits (WCC) are valid on West
Campus only from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. in lots G81, G82, and
G91. Beginning at 5 p.m. until 4 a.m., WCC permits are valid
in all commuter lots, faculty/staff surface lots, and RED
reserved spaces. WCC permits are NOT valid in WHITE reserved spaces. During West Campus special
events, the Office of Parking and Transportation reserves the
right to redirect West Campus commuter permit holders to
alternate lots.
“Park and Ride” permits are valid in lot G82 only. Permit holders
can catch the Redbird Express Campus Shuttle to East
and South Campuses. The shuttle picks up every 15 minutes
in front of Wilkins, Haynie, and Wright Halls between the
hours of 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lot availabiltiy is not guaranteed during any University special event.
Cardinal Court/Shelbourne permits are valid in Cardinal
Court/Shelbourne lots only (at all times). Permits can be purchased
from the Office of Parking and Transportation upon presentation
of a current housing contract. Student residents may
also purchase a commuter permit for use on campus. Visitors
to Cardinal Court and Shelbourne must display a visitor permit
on the dash of the vehicle. Visitor parking permits are
intended for short-term parking, no longer than three (3)
days. Visitors requiring parking arrangements for more than
three days should contact the Office of Parking and
Transportation. Each apartment has a visitor permit; replacements
are available from University Housing staff living in the
complexes. The visitor permit is for the use of the visitor and is not intended for the use of the resident. Residents must purchase
a permit
to park in the apartment complex.
Student residence hall permits are valid in their designated lot 24 hours a day. They are NOT valid in other lots at any time. Only students residing in a residence hall are eligible for these permits.
U-High senior permits are valid in lots U83, G83, and G73.
U-High junior permits are valid in lot U91. Beginning at 3
p.m., junior permits are valid in lots U83, G83, and G73.
U-High permits are not valid from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Students must have a current valid U-High ID to purchase
their permit. Sophomores also must have a permission slip
from the U-High office to obtain their permit, and will be
issued a U-High junior permit.
Laboratory school permits are valid in the laboratory lot
(L54) and the designated spaces on the south side of
U-High (F83) for up to 90 minutes between the hours of
7 a.m. and 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., there is no time limit; however,
these permits are NOT valid from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m.
After 4 p.m., laboratory school permits are valid in both
faculty/ staff and commuter surface lots. These permits are
NOT valid in reserved spaces or in parking garages at any
time. If you park in the Bone Student Center pay lot or the
South University Street visitor pay lot and display your
permit, you will receive the student rate of $.60 per hour.
Parking is NOT allowed in the Speech and Hearing Clinic
meters or the Psychological Services meters between 7
a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. These meters are
reserved during these hours and require a special permit.
Motorcycles and mopeds parked on campus must display a
permit and park in the designated motorcycle areas at
all times. Parking is NOT allowed for motorcycles and mopeds
at any time in the parking garages.
Emeritus/Retiree permits are valid in faculty/staff surface lots
from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. These permits
are valid in RED reserved spaces from 5 p.m. to 4 a.m. They
are NOT valid in WHITE reserved spaces at any time.
Emeritus/Retiree permits can park at no charge in the Bone
Student Center and South University Street Parking Garage
pay lots except during special events.
One-day temporary permits are available for faculty, staff,
and university departments requesting parking arrangements
for their guests at a cost of $2.75 per day.
Overnight temporary permits are also available for
guests of the University at a cost of $2.75 per night. These overnight temporary
permits are valid from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in lots G81, G86,
and from noon the first day to noon the second day in lots
S103 and S104 and S105. Visitors arriving after the Office of Parking and Transportation hours (Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm) should contact the University Police Department (24 hours a day, seven days a week) at (309) 438-8631 for temporary arrangements.
Visitors who have business with the University may also use meters, park in the Bone Student Center pay lot, or park on the first level of the South University Street Parking Garage for an hourly fee.
Business permits are valid in business spaces for
short-term parking (up to two hours) only. They are also valid in the Bone Student Center pay lot and the first level of the South University Street parking garage for up to two hours.
Business permits are not intended to be used in place of a faculty/staff permit
for long-term parking. University employees who have access to the departmental Business permit must display thier faculty/staff permit in addition to the Business permit. Alternate parking for business
permits is available in faculty/staff and commuter surface
lots. They are valid in RED reserved spaces and in the RESERVED ZONE areas from 5 p.m. to
4 a.m. These permits are NOT valid in service spaces or
in WHITE reserved spaces.
Service vehicle spaces are designated for university
vehicles displaying “U” license plates only, or by special
permission from the Office of Parking and Transportation.
Designated loading zone spaces will be located adjacent
or as close to campus buildings as possible. These
spaces are for loading and unloading only and will be
limited to 15 minutes.
