Parking
There are many different parking options at Illinois State University's campus, including:
- Metered Spaces - any parking space with a meter in front of it is considered a metered space. Meters are patrolled 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your meter fails, please contact the Office of Parking and Transportation at 438-8392. You will not be ticketed for 30 minutes at a 30 minute meter, and 60 minutes at all other meters.
- Pay Lots-located at the Bone Student Center and on the first level of the South University Street parking garage.
- Faculty-Staff surface (Red) lots-these are restricted to faculty/staff permit holders from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. After 5 p.m., anyone displaying a valid commuter permit can park in these lots.
- Commuter (Green) Lots-these are restricted to commuter permit holders from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Red Reserved Spaces - these spaces are reserved for the permit holders from the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. These lots are closed from 4:00 a.m. till 6:00 a.m. After 5:00 p.m. vehicles displaying a valid commuter permit (except Park & Ride) can park in a red surface lot or red signed reserved space until 4:00 a.m.
- Storage ( Blue) Lots- these are storage lots for residence hall students only. Students with blue permits may leave their car in these lots 24 hours a day. Resident hall students can also purchase a one day parking permit ($3.00) or a weekly permit ($12.00) to park in certain blue lots. If you can not find a spot in your lot, please contact the Office of Parking and Transportation at 438-8391. If it is after business hours, please contact the ISU police department at 438-8631.
- White Reserved Spaces - these spaces are reserved for the permit holder from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- F35/F37 (Reserved Zone)- these spaces require a reserved zone permit and are located on the top level of the School Street and South University Street parking garages.
- Motorcycle/Moped parking - motorized vehicles with no more than three wheels must display a valid motorcycle permit to park in these lots.
- Short-term permit parking passes - these permits are available for business, health, and medical purposes, and can be purchased by contacting the Office of Parking and Transportation.
Weekend Parking
After 7 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. on Monday, parking is available in the red faculty/staff lots and the green commuter lots.
